CALGON take me away!

People are often asking us how they should clean their jewelry. We are more than happy to share these simple and economical cleaning tips that we use at home.

Fill your kitchen sink with about 2-3 inches of very hot water, but not hot enough to burn you. Dissolve one tablespoon each of Calgon Water Softener and salt. Place a sheet of aluminum foil in the bottom of the sink and place your silver jewelery on top. It is important that the silver be in contact with the foil and covered by the water. You will see results in about 10 seconds. If it is badly tarnished, try using a toothbrush to loosen the dirt and soak again. Rinse with warm water and rub with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Remember that the best way to keep your jewelry beautiful and sparkly is to wear it. The natural oils from your skin will help to keep it shiny, so wear away! Since a girl can not and SHOULD not wear all her jewelry at once, be sure to store your precious baubles in a jewelry box lined with a soft, textured material. This keeps them free from scratches and protects them from the constant exposure to air, which is what causes the silver to oxidize.
